Laura Ashley The Tea Room opens in Cornwall

The first Laura Ashley The Tea Room opened in Cornwall, England, at The Cornwall Hotel.  The sixth in the Laura Ashley collection, the tea room is located in the hotel’s main building, at the heart of the estate.

According to Kay Cullen, Laura Ashley designer, the inspiration behind The Cornwall design was inspired by the hotel’s location close to the coast, yet nestled in a tropical garden setting. (The Lost Gardens of Heligan is right on the doorstep.) The design team named the concept “Into the Blue” to give the tea room a distinct identity with blue being the standout color, mixed with contrasting pops of orange and green to reflect the colors in the surrounding trees as they change season.

The space also uses coastal prints, geometric shapes, brightly colored art work with touches of brass and gold, adding a fresh take to the country manor aesthetic.
