Omni, Raines, Dream Hotel Group make leadership appointments

Several hospitality companies have appointed new leaders in recent days.

Omni Hotels & Resorts

Omni Hotels & Resorts has appointed Peter Palli as the company's new chief commercial officer. Palli will be responsible for all revenue generating efforts across sales, marketing, revenue management, distribution and analytics, as well as operations at the Omni customer-contact center.

A travel and hospitality veteran with 25 years of experience, Palli joins Omni from Signature Aviation, where he served as VP of revenue management and analytics, leading efforts to digitize the commercial operation.

Having started his hospitality career in his native Austria, Palli joined Hilton in 1998 and over a two-decade span with the company progressed from operational roles at various hotels in the Hilton portfolio to senior corporate technology and commercial leadership positions, including vice president of distribution and commercial solutions.

Raines Hospitality

Hospitality development, management and investment company Raines has appointed Kristen Myers as VP of investments. In this new, specialized role, Myers is responsible for the company’s investment and capital activities, focusing on developing an investment thesis for each of Raines’ projects while also managing investor relations, investment analysis, and underwriting.

A longtime team member of Raines, Myers has held key leadership roles since joining the organization in March 2015. After serving as VP of development for five years, Myers transitioned into an overarching vice president role to oversee the Raines’ long term trajectory by guiding the company through a rebrand and expansion of offerings earlier this year. During this time, Myers also managed Raines’ insurance portfolio and launch of its IMS platform, all while still playing a leadership role in development.

As VP of investments, Myers will develop an investment thesis for each project. To this end, she will perform market research, proforma modeling, site acquisition, franchise negotiation, equity/debt financing and underwriting. In addition to these responsibilities, Myers will also place an emphasis on innovating the investor experience, focusing on communication and building relationships with the company’s selective group of investors.

Dream Hotel Group

Dream Hotel Group promotes Robert Mallia to VP of architecture and construction.

Mallia has been with the company for 10 years and will now oversee architecture and construction planning efforts for all Dream Hotel Group properties worldwide. His key areas of focus include pre-construction drawings, programming review, building codes, zoning analysis, monitoring construction and renovation budgets, schedules, procurement, overseas sourcing and quality control, construction contract review and, ultimately, the successful handover of the project at hand.

Mallia joined Dream Hotel Group as architectural director in 2011. Prior to Dream, he was engaged at Manhattan-based architectural firm WQB Architecture PLLC, working on numerous hospitality and residential projects around the world, including the first location of Dream Hotel Group’s five-star luxury brand, the Thierry W. Despont-led reimagining of the Lambs Club into The Chatwal New York, with Mallia as Architectural Project Manager.

During his 10-year tenure with Dream Hotel Group, he has overseen multiple construction and renovation projects at all of the group’s New York properties, as well as the pre-construction stages on hotels further afield in California, Texas and Belgium.
