Encore introduces Sunny, a collection of seating and tables inspired by California's culture and nature. Designed by U.K.-based studio Rainlight, the series includes guest and lounge chairs, a settee, and accompanying occasional tables in various sizes.
Designer Yorgo Lykouria gave the Sunny collection subtle nods to surf culture as well as nature, community, and simplicity in design. Each piece has a tapered wood frame joined by die-cast aluminum connectors, which are influenced by the concept of assembling found objects and natural materials on the beach to create something new. The lightweight, open design promotes flexibility, letting users rearrange seating or pull up a chair effortlessly.
Seating models offer varying degrees of recline. Inspired by seaside gatherings, the settee encourages side-by-side seating, while tables have oval and round tops with curved edges, evoking the fluidity of waves.
The ash wood frame and aluminum connectors come in a range of standard and custom finishes. The tabletop can be specified in wood veneer, laminate, Fenix and solid surface options. Intended to complement a variety of settings from casual to sophisticated, designers can mix and match materials, crafting either a neutral aesthetic or infusing pops of color. This can be achieved through upholstery choices or by opting for aluminum connectors in a spectrum of bright or earthy tones.
