In the past month, hotels and management companies have made numerous appointments in sales and marketing. Here’s the latest.

Phoenix American Hospitality

Hotel ownership and management company Phoenix American Hospitality has made two regional sales appointments: Melissa Sanders as VP of business development, national accounts and West Coast sales and Conan Porter as regional VP, wholesaler Southwest. Most recently, Sanders worked as VP of regional sales for E*Trade and Porter served as a regional business consultant for James Alpha Advisors.

Performance Hospitality Management

Performance Hospitality Management has chosen Michele Olivier to oversee its marketing, sales and revenue management as VP of commercial services. In her new role, she will be responsible for the company’s commercial strategy and development and lead initiatives to drive business growth. A more than 25-year veteran of hospitality, Olivier has worked in sales-and-marketing roles for IHG, Hilton, Elegant Hotels Group, Aimbridge Hospitality and, most recently, Hospitality Metrics.

21c Museum Hotels

21c Museum Hotels, a Louisville, Ky.-based boutique hotel, contemporary art museum and restaurant group, has named Jeff Tomczek VP of brand marketing and sales. Working closely with both its corporate and property teams, he now oversees brand marketing, corporate sales, communications and revenue management. Before joining 21c Museum Hotels, Tomczek worked as VP of brand marketing for Two Roads Hospitality.

The St. Anthony Hotel

The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Antonio has made two sales team appointments, promoting its executive meeting manager, Lena Gutierrez, to sales account manager and bringing on Ana Francesca Garcia as sales account executive. Gutierrez has worked with the hotel for three years and in the hospitality industry overall for eight. She will be responsible for helping groups who need 40 or more rooms and coordinating corresponding meeting space. Garcia, who before her appointment worked as the spa group sales manager and events manager for Lake Austin Spa Resort, will focus on helping with small meetings in need of between 10 and 39 rooms per night.

Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Dorado, Puerto Rico, has appointed Becky Colbert market director of group account sales. In the newly created position, she will develop new business opportunities for the reserve. Before joining the Ritz-Carlton, Colbert worked as senior group sales manager at Lotte New York Palace, a role she held since 2013.

Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown

The 350-room Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown has named Catherine Kent director of sales and marketing. During her more than 25 years in the hotel industry, Kent has worked as director of sales and marketing for two other Southern California hotels (Hilton Long Beach and Hilton Checkers Los Angeles) and five East Coast properties (Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston, Radisson Hotel Boston, Radisson Hotel Marlborough, Tremont Hotel, and Mansfield Host Hotel).

Kimpton Aertson Hotel

Nashville’s Kimpton Aertson Hotel has appointed Lindsey Sullivan director of sales and marketing. Before joining the 180-room hotel, she served as assistant director of sales for Hutton Hotel, also in Nashville. Sullivan has nearly 13 years of experience in hotel sales.

Courtyard by Marriott/Residence Inn by Marriott Syracuse Downtown at Armory Square

Julie Martin Barfield, GM of the 180-room Courtyard by Marriott/Residence Inn by Marriott Syracuse (N.Y.) Downtown at Armory Square appointed Krissi Grubka director of sales for the dual-brand hotel. Before her current role, Grubka worked as the sales and marketing manager for the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel and Conference Center and director of sales and marketing for the Best Western Plus East Syracuse Inn.
