4 hotels name sales/marketing execs

Two hospitality companies and two large-scale hotels have made appointments in sales and marketing recently. Here’s the latest on these executive moves..

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has promoted Sam Torgerson to director of global sales.

Torgerson joined the chain's corporate office in Los Angeles following four years as the director of strategic accounts at the 168-room Viceroy Snowmass in Aspen, Colo.

Before working with Viceroy, she spent 10 years in sales with Marriott International, rising to senior sales manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch in Colorado.

KSL Resorts has promoted Susan Barnes, its regional director of sales for the Southwest for more than 11 years, to global sales director, incentive market. In her new role, she oversees the strategic development of incentive market partnerships in corporate reward and recognition programs.

Barnes, with more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, previously worked as front office manager, director of revenue management, director of catering and conference services, director of destination services and director of sales.

The 1,606-room Hilton Anatole in Dallas has named Kimberly Zoulek director of sales and marketing.

Zoulek, who has worked with Hilton since 1991, most recently spent nearly 12 years serving as director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Minneapolis. The Hilton Anatole includes 600,000 square feet of meeting space, a three-acre pool facility, an 80,000-square-foot fitness club and spa and nine restaurants and bars.

The 1,218-room Sheraton Grand Chicago has appointed Marcus Cornelious director of sales and marketing, a role in which he oversees more than two dozen directors, managers and associates.

He most recently worked as a director of sales and marketing at another Chicago hotel, The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Michigan Avenue, Chicago. Cornelious’ past experiences in the Windy City also includes sales positions with The Langham, Chicago; W Hotels and Hilton.
