Como Hotels and Resorts, 21c Museum Hotels and properties in Ohio, Hawaii, Florida, California and Oregon have appointed new leaders in sales and marketing.
Singapore-based luxury hotel group Como Hotels and Resorts appointed Elisa Chacon senior global director of sales for the Americas. Based in New York, she will manage both East and West Coast global sales offices and forge relationships with luxury consortia, wholesale and high-end travel agencies. Chacon brings more than 12 years of hospitality sales experience to her new role, including most recently as the regional director of sales for the Oetker Collection’s Jumby Bay Resort in Antigua & Barbuda.
The Louisville, Ky.-based company 21c Museum Hotels appointed Michelle Bearman senior director of corporate sales. In her new role, Bearman will oversee corporate sales, work hands-on to provide training and development of 21c Museum Hotels sales teams, support openings and maximize overall sales efforts. At her most recent position, global director of sales for Hyatt Hotels Corp., Bearman managed a portfolio of global corporate and travel management accounts on behalf of 800 hotels.
The 600-key Hilton Cleveland Downtown promoted Julia Austin from assistant director of group sales to director of sales and marketing. Austin started out in hospitality 10 years ago as a catering and conference services coordinator at Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix, where she rose to national sales manager. Since then, she has worked as sales manager at FireSky Resort & Spa (now The Scott Resort & Spa) in Scottsdale, Ariz., and senior sales manager at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort.
Prince Waikiki appointed Joy Tomita Anderson director of sales and marketing. She will oversee all sales, marketing and public relations initiatives for the 563-room Honolulu hotel, including its restaurant and bar, meeting and events space and 27-hole golf course. Anderson brings more than 20 years of Honolulu hospitality experience, including most recently as director of sales and marketing at the Queen Kapi’olani Hotel.
The 240-room Sonesta Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Beach, slated to reopen this November after a multiyear renovation, named Michael Dutton director of sales and marketing. In his new role, he will oversee the property’s sales and marketing strategy and implement short- and long-term initiatives to raise awareness around the hotel’s expanding weddings and meetings space. Dutton holds more than 20 years of hospitality sales and marketing experience. Most recently, he served as director of sales and marketing at Resorts World Bimini in the Bahamas.
The Kimpton Goodland, a 158-room hotel in Goleta, Calif., appointed Sylvie Monsivais director of sales and marketing. Monsivais, who brings 17 years of experience, most recently served as director of sales and marketing at the 149-room Harbor View Inn in nearby Santa Barbara, Calif.
The Hotel Zags Portland (Ore.) named Felicia Rahm director of sales and marketing. Before joining the new 174-room boutique hotel, Rahm worked in a range of sales and marketing roles across the country, including most recently as director of sales and marketing at Yotel Boston.
