Hyatt’s Hotel La Compañía deploys new guest security tech

The Hotel La Compañía in Panama has implemented security and guest experience-enhancing platforms by Assa Abloy Global Solutions.

The hotel, part of that The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, has adopted the VingCard Signature RFID door locks, together with the implementation of Elsafe Zenith safes and Polarbar minibars in each of the hotel’s 88 guestrooms.

With VingCard Signature RFID, Hotel La Compañía will have advanced anti-keycard cloning abilities that protect against the risk of unauthorized access using data encryption. By deploying VingCard Signature RFID using online mode, the property can provide staff with real-time alerts to any security-related issues requiring immediate attention. These include notifying employees of a wandering intruder attempting to use a keycard on multiple doors in an effort to gain access. If any keycards are suspected of being inappropriately used, staff can instantly deactivate them before a security threat escalates.

Bypassing the need to replace pre-existing lock hardware, VingCard Signature RFID can be activated to let guests use personal devices as a secure digital room key.

“Our hotel is committed to providing each guest with a relaxing stay that always results in obtaining peace of mind, and to achieve this goal it is vital that we adopt the industry’s latest technologies which for hotel security, is undoubtedly provided by Assa Abloy Global Solutions,” Hotel La Compañía Panama GM Fidel Reyes said in a statement. “The company benefits from a proven reputation in pushing hotel security and guest service capabilities to new heights and with the exceptional support quality we received, can confidently say that our expectations have been exceeded.”

Hotel La Compañía also adopted Elsafe Zenith electronic in-room safes to protect valuables. Elsafe Zenith safes have anti-tamper protocols and are tested to withstand multiple physical break-in attempts.

The Polarbar minibars, meanwhile, come in a range of sizes and color options. The line is designed to reduce energy use and that keep operational noise at minimum levels.

The hotel, which opened earlier this year, is housed within a historic building dating back to the 17th century.
