Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour installs check-in kiosks

The Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour has implemented VingCard Essence door locks and Liverton self check-in kiosks from Assa Abloy Global Solutions.

By leveraging Assa Abloy Global Solutions’ technology and the company’s strategic relationship with Liverton, the property aims to maintain maximum security standards while also providing enhanced convenience and reducing physical touchpoints. The property is one of the first Sofitel-branded hotels to adopt self check-in kiosk technology.

The hotel's leadership team recognized that using an advanced security access solution could enhance the property’s hygiene protocols. Property leadership selected Assa Abloy Global Solutions, the preferred supplier to Accor, because of its security capabilities, such as its real-time room access reports and advanced access management features.

By integrating with the property's Liverton self check-in kiosks, the adoption of Assa Abloy Global Solutions is meant to help guests swiftly and securely get their room key without having to visit the front desk. Guests can also use the kiosks to check out and pay their bill, ensuring enhanced social distancing measures and reducing the risk of potential germ exposure. The kiosks also let the hotel re-deploy staff resources to other tasks that are more influential in enhancing guest experiences while benefiting from increased labor savings.

Door Locks

VingCard Essence door locks leverage a minimalistic design to  blend in with the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour’s décor. All of the lock's components are inside the door and only displays an RFID reader to guests. While VingCard Essence’s maximum distance reading capabilities provide guestroom access, the solution is also equipped with security protocols that include anti-key cloning abilities through advanced data encryption. The locks also let the property instantly activate Mobile Access, letting guests check in digitally and access their rooms through their own personal devices, further limiting exposure to germs and reducing touchpoints.

The hotel also has Zenith electronic safes and Polarbar minibars in each guestroom. Both technologies offer a range of models, sizes, and color options, allowing hoteliers to precisely match solutions to every hotel and guest's needs.
