Outrigger to acquire Kauai resort

Outrigger Resorts & Hotels is investing further in its home market of Hawaii with the planned acquisition of the Kauai Beach Resort & Spa, currently owned by Eagle Point Hotel Partners. Located in the town of Līhue on Kauai, the 350-room resort covers 25 acres of the island’s beachfront. The transaction is expected to be completed and close on Aug. 22. A purchase price was not disclosed.

Once the deal is done, Outrigger will have a full-service resort on all four of the major Hawaiian Islands.

In a statement, Outrigger President and CEO Jeff Wagoner noted that the company managed the resort in the 1990s. “This transition feels like a welcome home,” he said. “We look forward to further enhancing the property for both our guests and hosts.”

This news comes on the heels of last month’s announcement that Outrigger would acquire the Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel on Maui. It will be the seventh acquisition that the company has made in the last two years in Hawaii, Thailand and the Maldives.
