A new My Place Hotel-Lubbock, Texas, is expected to open in September. The four-story, 63-room hotel is located near dining, shopping and entertainment options, as well as Texas Tech University, Jones AT&T Stadium and the city’s medical district.
Lubbock’s newest hotel is independently owned by KAMP Hotels, who recently executed a territorial development agreement with My Place Hotels of America to build 30 new Texas hotels. While the principals of KAMP Hotels opened their first My Place Hotel close to home in Amarillo, Lubbock is where Kevin Nelson and Alan Rhodes, owners of KAMP Hotels, earned their undergraduate degrees at their respective alma maters Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University.
“Lubbock’s momentum and hub city status continues to impress us as we watch the region look to Lubbock for medical care, education, entertainment, business and culture,” Nelson said. “We are pleased to bring this exciting new hotel product to the city that has meant so much to both of us over the years. All My Place Hotels offer amenities such as extended-stay guestrooms with My Kitchens, complete with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave and a full refrigerator. The property is pet friendly and will also include on-site laundry facilities, complimentary high -peed Internet and a 24- hour My Store located in the hotel lobby.
