PM Hotel Group, Crestline, Castle Hospitality, Noble House appoint execs

Four hospitality companies have named new leaders this week. 

PM Hotel Group

PM Hotel Group promotes Sage Patel to vice president of strategic initiatives + investment and feasibility analysis. Since joining PM Hotel Group, Patel has progressively advanced within the organization, assuming new responsibilities and rising to meet every challenge. In his new position, he will support the continued strategic growth of PM Hotel Group, driving improved hotel performance and increasing value for owners.

“Sage's financial acumen, strategic thinking and dedication to our growth have undoubtedly impacted our success,” PM Hotel Group President and CEO Joseph Bojanowski said in a statement. “As vice president of strategic initiatives + investment and feasibility analysis, Sage will play in an integral role as we continue to expand PM Hotel Group’s footprint within the hospitality industry."

Prior to his tenure with PM Hotel Group, Patel received his Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. He served as an investment banking analyst at BMO Capital Markets, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance, before joining PM Hotel Group in July 2018 as a senior financial analyst. In response to his outstanding performance and commitment to excellence, Patel was recognized by Hotel Management's "Thirty Under 30" list as an up-and-coming talent within the industry. Patel was then promoted to corporate director of strategic initiatives in November 2020, successfully navigating PM Hotel Group through two mergers in 2022.

Crestline Hotels & Resorts 

Crestline Hotels & Resorts appoints Laura Mack as senior vice president of accounting and finance. Mack joins Crestline from American Campus Communities, where she held the position of SVP, chief accounting officer. 

“Laura brings more than 20 years of experience as a results-focused accounting leader across multiple industries including real estate, retail manufacturing and the internet domain space for both public and private entities,” Crestline President and CEO James Carroll said. “Laura shares Crestline’s commitment to creating partnerships with owners and investors, organizational development and process improvement."  

In her new role at Crestline, Mack will oversee corporate accounting and finance as well as hotel accounting. She will be responsible for planning and directing the monthly accounting close including revenue recognition, managing cash flow requirements, overseeing A/R and A/P activities, ensuring adherence to solid internal controls, providing analytical insight and tracking performance metrics. 

Castle Hospitality Group

Matt Bailey succeeds Alan Mattson as president and CEO of the Hawaii-based Castle Hospitality Group, the hotel, condo resort and vacation rental management company. The long-time Hawaii hospitality executive joined the company as chief operating officer in June of this year. 

“As I step into the role of president, I commend and thank Alan for his incredible achievements over the last 24 years that led to Castle becoming one of the most innovative hotel and resort management companies in the Pacific,” said Bailey. “I am determined to not only uphold the outstanding foundation I’ve inherited but also to propel our team to even greater heights of excellence and innovation. Our mission is three-fold: to deliver market-leading financial results, to meticulously steward our owners’ properties and to provide exceptional experiences for our guests.”

Bailey has more than 40 years of hospitality management experience. Prior to joining Castle Hospitality Group, he served as general manager of the Montage Kapalua Bay. He also previously served as president and COO of Aqua-Aston Hospitality and held executive positions with Sundance Resort, Aston Hotels & Resorts, The Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa, and Carmel Valley Ranch. 

Noble House Hotels & Resorts

Noble House Hotels & Resorts promotes Steven Marais to vice president of rooms. Marais has been with the Noble House Hotels & Resorts brand since 2015, when he began his tenure as front office manager at the Argonaut Hotel in San Francisco for nearly two years, before his promotion to director of guest services. In this role, he will provide crucial support for diverse task force initiatives across the brand.

Marais then transitioned to the corporate team as corporate rooms director in September 2018, drawing upon over 15 years expertise in the hospitality industry. He supported the Noble House Hotels & Resorts portfolio through development of initiatives and programming that benefited overall operations of the brand. During the pandemic, he was responsible for creating the COVID-19 operating standards for rooms operations, developing trainings for employees across the brand and navigating supply chain disruption. He also led the re-opening teams at Little Palm Island Resort & Spa, River Terrace Inn and The Edgewater Hotel. Marais was then promoted to corporate director of rooms and IT operations, expanding his role to sourcing and implementing new technology to improve efficiency.
