Courtyard by Marriott Lake Placid hires new GM, director of sales

Waterford Hotel Group promoted Felecia Green to GM, and appointed Sarah Howrigan to director of sales at the Courtyard by Marriott in Lake Placid, N.Y. The 96-room Courtyard by Marriott Lake Placid is managed by Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel and convention center management firm.

As GM, Green is responsible for all of the hotel’s operations, sales and administration, as well as the associates employed at the property. With more than 15 years of hotel management experience, she started her management career as the front office manager and sales manager at the Marriott Courtyard, Marriott Residence Inn and Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites in Germantown, Tenn. She then went on to become assistant GM at the Courtyard in Memphis, Tenn. Green then relocated to upstate New York and has held the position of assistant GM at the Courtyard Lake Placid since 2016.

In her new role as director of sales, Howrigan is responsible for the total sales efforts for the hotel, as well as supervising sales related personnel and implementing sales and marketing strategies to maximize profits while also maintaining guest satisfaction. Howrigan joins the Courtyard team with more than 12 years of sales and hospitality experience. She started her management career as a sales and marketing manager at the Courtyard Marriott in Williston, VT.  She then went on to become business traveler sales & marketing manager at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel & Conference Center. She then returned to the Courtyard by Marriott in Williston, Vt., as director of sales and was promoted to GM. Most recently, Howrigan was the senior sales manager at the Hilton Hotel in Burlington.
